GRE(Graduate Record Examination)

It is an admissions requirement for most graduate schools in the United States. Created and administered by the Educational Testing Service (ETS). The same organization which administrates the TOFEL exam.

The GRE General Test features question types that closely reflect the kind of thinking you’ll do in graduate or business school. The question types are like the following:

  1. Verbal Reasoning— Measures your ability to analyse and evaluate written material and synthesize information obtained from it, analyse relationships among component parts of sentences and recognize relationships among words and concepts. İt contains 3 types of questions:
    • Reading Comprehension
    • Text Completion
    • Sentence Equivalence
  1. Quantitative Reasoning — Measures problem-solving ability using basic concepts of arithmetic, algebra, geometry and data analysis.
  2. Analytical Writing — Measures critical thinking and analytical writing skills, specifically your ability to articulate and support complex ideas clearly and effectively. İt contains 2 writing tasks:
  • An issue task
  • An argument task

This exam can be even taken online;
